Ok. So it's time to upload your Hollywood
Billboard Photo! This might be a little tricky for you
but it shouldn't be too hard.
We need the following from you:
A photo that was taken in a minimum of 2 megapixels and a
maximum of 5 megapixels.
Seeing as your photo will be a 9 inch by 9 inch square, you
need to keep your photograph within those dimensions. If you send
us a photo which is 8 X 6 this is the photo we will use, even
though your square is 9 X 9. If you would like to use the full 9
inches by 9 inches you will have to crop your image into the
shape of a square. and then resize your image.
Need Help Try This: If you don't already
have a photo editing program your familiar with, you can try
IrfanView. If you have used Myspace then you have probably
used this program, if not all you need to do is: Go to
http://www.download.com/ and download a FREE copy of the
software program IrfanView. Once you have downloaded and installed
IrfanView, simply run the program, open your
image, and follow the steps below.
Step 1. Cropping Your Photo (if you do not wish
to crop your photo skip to Step 2- Resize)
If you would like to crop your photo into the shape of
a square simply click and drag your mouse over your photo.
You will see a border forming around your photo. At the very top
of your screen you will see the dimensions of your cropped photo.
When the dimensions are equal (i.e. 1600 X 1600), you are ready
to crop your photo. Go to EDIT at top of the page and click on
crop image. Congratulations you have now cropped your image.
Step 2. Resizing Your Photo
As we mentioned above your photo must be no larger then 9 inches
by 9 inches. It is really simple to resize your photo. At the top
of your screen you will see a menu item entitled
"Image". Under this menu you will find
"Resize/Resample", click on this. A small window will
open. Follow these easy steps
Now select "Set New Size", and select
"inches"
Skip to the bottom of the window, under "DPI",
select "Preserve aspect ratio" and enter 150 for your
DPI setting.
Now go back up to "Set New Size", now enter the
size setting for your photo. All you have to do is enter the
number 9 and the program does the rest for you.
Note: Make sure the height and width dimensions are each
within 9 inches.
Now save your photo and that's it, your Hollywood Photo is
ready to go!
