Julien Petit is the founder of youSquare.Com and the World Wide Photo Wall.
He currently attends college in Southern California; however his story began ten thousand miles away and involves many
interesting journeys. By age 20 Julien had lived in two countries, played college football, become a pilot, and traveled
the world. Being a college student without an advertising budget, Julien knew he needed to be creative when it came to
launching and advertising youSquare.Com; at the same time he also wanted to create an event the world would enjoy. Although
simple, the World Wide Photo Wall represents a friendly world, a new advertising/business model, a unique social connection, and ultimately a one-of-a-kind event.
Growing up in Los Angeles Julien always thought it would be a great experience to see himself on a Hollywood Billboard,
something only the famous get to experience. So why not provide this experience to the everyday person? Thus the idea of giving
the world an opportunity to be on a Hollywood Billboard Spectacular came to life. Although the Hollywood Spectacular is huge, Julien knew space was limited and not everyone could have a large photo.
Therefore the 9 Squares with the most clicks will have a life-size 6ft X 6ft photo on the Hollywood Spectacular. Who knows, the WorldWidePhotoWall might even launch a Hollywood career or two.
When developing the concept of the World Wide Photo Wall Julien wanted to accomplish two things. One, he wanted
to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the people of the world, not just an experience, but an event that
the world could be a part of and something that had meaning. Two, he wanted to offer an innovative advertising opportunity
that combined online advertising with "real world advertising", a first in the industry. Not only does the World Wide Photo
Wall offer businesses the opportunity to advertise online and in the real world, but it allows businesses to advertise on
a scale they would typically be unable to afford.
Through his experiences in life Julien knew he wanted to promote
"Friendliness" because life is all about connecting with other people. Unfortunately, in today's world many people find a
reason not to smile. Have you ever noticed how many people walk past you at work, school, or on the street that don't even look at you, let alone give you a smile?
This is unfortunate because sharing a smile with someone can truly brighten their day. Julien doesn't believe people want to be unfriendly, rather he believes they get caught up
in life and the stresses of life. In response to this Julien decided to create a World Wide Photo Wall which would incorporate photos of people from all over the world and promote
a friendly world. On the Photo Wall people can connect to others with a Square that has their photo and a link to a website about them, such as a MySpace page or a Blog.
The "Wall" is a symbol of happiness. Life is all about connecting with other people, and if you go anywhere in the world the smile symbolizes this connection. The smile truly is
a universal language of happiness. The World Wide Photo Wall is an exciting event for people and businesses step back for a moment, be happy, and share a smile. |
